Former Super Eagles striker, Julius Aghahowa has said coach Gernot Rohr has no excuse not to compete at the top level on the continent looking at the quality of players at his disposal.

The ex FC Shakhtar Donetsk striker insists that the current campaign has shown that there won’t be any excuse on the quality on the ground for the coach to choose from.

Speaking in a chat with Brila.net, Aghahowa said Nigeria is blessed with an abundance of talented players across Europe, and the statistics posted this season is testament to the top quality of the current set of players available for selection.

“We have a very good crop of players coming through playing different leagues in the world but we are still finding it difficult to match them together to get the desired results that we want.

I think the issue of management is where the problem is because these players at their clubs they are doing wonderfully well and scoring but when we bring them back here, there are one or two things that are lacking behind making them not to pick.”
