Adebayor signs for Paraguay side - Olimpia for free

Paraguay club, Olimpia, has secured the signature of former Arsenal player, Emmanuel Adebayor, on a free transfer.

The 35-year-old Togolese was clubless and recently became a free agent after ending a brief spell with Turkish side Kayserispor in December. [Goal]

The South American club will bank on Adebayor's wealth of experience having played across Europe's top-flight leagues such as France- Metz and Monaco, England - Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace.

He also had a spell in Spain with one of the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, under Jose Mourinho.

Olimpia Asuncion tweeted to announce they had secured the services of a player and praised his "power and quality".

They said he had agreed to play for them for the 2020 season, which starts on Saturday 15 February.

Club Olimpia are the reigning Paraguayan league champions and their captain is 38-year-old former Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz.
