Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has apologized to Nigerians for missing out on the tournament but has wished the Super Eagles all the best in the tournament.
This was made known in a video made available on the social media handle of the Nigeria Football Federation.
The 32-year-old opted out of the tournament after club Al-Shabab failed to release him, but he optimistic about Nigeria’s chances of excelling in Cameroon.
“I wish the Super Eagles all the best in Cameroon. Sorry I couldn’t make it, but I’m supporting the team and wish very best.”
“We have enough talents to take us to final, and we need all the prayers and support from Nigerians,” he said.
In an update, Paderborn of Germany defender Jamilu Collins joined the team on Monday.
