Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Idah Peterside has opined that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) should consider terminating the contract of the appointed Super Eagles coach, Jose Peserio should interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen get to the semi-finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The former shot-stopper made the comment when he appeared as a guest on Channels TV Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

The Super Eagles on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, defeated The Pharaohs of Egypt after a tournament-winning performance in the opening game.

A well-taking strike by Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho in the 30 minutes condemned Mohammed Salah and his team to a rare defeat.

"Let us see how the team progresses. The good thing about this is that the new coach hasn't signed his contract, Peserio has been appointed as a coach and they expect him to come to Nigeria to sign the contract officially to be the national team coach."

"If Eguavoen gets to the semi-finals, playing like this, we will stop the plane from taking off from Portugal. The plan will not take off."
