Legendary Italian football manager Fabio Capello has lauded Samuel Chukwueze following his impressive performance for AC Milan in their Serie A opener against Torino.
The 27-year-old starred as the Rossoneri edged Torino 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday, August 23.
Chukwueze, who was handed a new role as a wing-back under the new Portuguese manager, flourished in his new position, earning him the official Man of the Match accolade.
The former Fulham man teed up Frenchman Adrien Rabiot for Milan's second goal of the game and created the most chances in the game (4), more than any other player on the pitch.
In his review of the game, Capello reserved special praise for Chukwueze, who he described as an unrecognizable player under Ruben Amorim in his new wing-back role.
"Moving on to AC Milan, however, we've already begun to see some of Amorim's influence, starting with a very intense first half," Capello wrote, as per Livescore.
"The Rossoneri have already shown a desire to implement what their coach asks of them: a game plan, for a real match from the start. Speaking of which, Chukwueze certainly deserves a mention, as he struck me as a completely different player than he was two years ago."
Chukwueze returned to Milan after spending last season on loan at Fulham in the Premier League.
