9 facts you probably didn't know about Sunday Oliseh

Amongst lots of the enormous and famous people in Nigeria is Sunday Oliseh.

He was born into a catholic home to Mr. and Mrs. Oliseh. His father is an accountant and his mother is a retired business woman. He grew up with 7 siblings (6 boys 1 girl).

Oliseh had both his primary and secondary education is Lagos state where he got the opportunity to passionately play competitive soccer.

Oliseh pursued his passion for football untill it became profitable. His earnings as a footballer was sufficient to exonerate his family from poverty.

Well known for his screamer against Spain at France 98', his stock grew in the international stage. He went on to play for top European sides including Italian giants, Juventus.

Oliseh is married to a Belgian-Morrocan woman called Hafidah. They are blessed with two children.

1. His middle name is Ogochukwu.

2. He has enjoyed a relatively successful coaching career.

3. He was part of the 1996 Olympic team that won gold in Atlanta.

4. He is also a business man.

5. Oliseh started his coaching career in Belgium with youth teams in the Belgian 3rd Division Verviers, notably the Under 19 team.

6. In 2013, he was appointed into the Technical study group of world's football governing body FIFA.

7. He played for eight club in Europe. They are Juventus, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Bochum, RFC Liege, Reggiana, FC Cologne and Genk.

8. His football career is remarkable as he won four major trophies as a player at club level: a domestic cup double for Ajax in the 1997-98 season, KNVB Cup 1998-99 season and the Bundesliga title with Borussia Dortmund 2001–02.

9. Oliseh played 63 international matches and scored three goals for Nigeria, and played at the Football World Cups of 1994 and 1998.
