Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi is set to make his 90th international appearance when the Super Eagles lock horns with Gabon in the World Cup qualifying playoffs later today (Thursday, November 13).

The 29-year-old is expected to start in midfield alongside Wilfred Ndidi, in what will be his 90th cap for the Super Eagles.

Iwobi switched his international allegiance to Nigeria in 2015 after representing England at youth level.

He made his senior debut for Nigeria in October 2015 in a friendly against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The former Arsenal man went on to feature for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

The Fulham midfielder has featured for the Super Eagles in every game since the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
