Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi is set to miss the Super Eagles’ crucial FIFA World Cup playoff game against Gabon next month.

The Hull City defender was booked during the Super Eagles’ 4-0 victory over Benin Republic on Tuesday, October 14.

Ajayi was cautioned in the 55th minute for a foul on Benin goalkeeper Saturnin Allagbé.

The card was the former West Brom defender’s second caution in the qualifiers.

He received his first booking on matchday one during Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Lesotho.

However, Ademola Lookman will be available for selection against Gabon after serving his one-match suspension in the game against Benin Republic.
