South Africa captain Ronwen Williams has emphasized the importance of defeating Nigeria in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Bafana Bafana will host the Super Eagles at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday night.

A victory for Hugo Broos’ side would put them in pole position to secure their ticket to next year’s Mundial.

The Super Eagles, on the other hand, will be looking to close the point gap with South Africa to just three points with a victory away from home.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams stated that Bafana Bafana are solely focused on the clash against the Super Eagles — not the results from other matches in Group C.

“The most important thing is to get the job done. We do not want any favours from anyone, we want to do things our way,” Williams was quoted by Safa.net.
