Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has hailed Victor Osimhen as the best striker in the world following his outstanding performance against Benin Republic in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Osimhen starred as Nigeria thumped Gernot Rohr's team 4-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday, October 14.
The 26-year-old opened the scoring just three minutes into the game to give Chelle's side a strong start, before adding a second with a powerful header in the 37th minute.
The former Napoli striker completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute, before Frank Onyeka added a fourth with a half-volley in stoppage time.
Speaking at a post-match press conference, Eric Chelle expressed his delight with the team’s performance and especially Osimhen's impact against the Cheetahs.
“I am very happy for my players, especially the best striker in the world, Victor (Osimhen),” the Malian tactician said after the game.
