Flying Eagles winger Sani Suleiman has shared his thoughts on the team’s draw with Colombia, DAILY POST reports.
Aliyu Zubairu’s side held the South Americans to a 1-1 draw in their last group game at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup on Monday morning.
The seven-time African champions finished third in Group F with four points from three games.
The Flying Eagles earned a berth in the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams.
They will battle another South American side Argentina for a place in the quarter-finals.
Suleiman will miss the encounter slated for Santiago on Wednesday after picking his second booking of the competition late in the game against Colombia.
The youngster however backed his teammates to get the job done in his absence.
“I’m very happy that we qualified for the knockout stage,” he said after the game.
“Determination and teamwork helped us to get the result against Colombia and now we are through. Hopefully we will not struggle the way we struggled in the group stage and even though I will not be part of them (against Argentina) I trust my teammates not to disappoint.”
