Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been shortlisted for the 2025 African Footballer of the Year award.
CAF announced the Galatasaray striker as one of the nominees for the coveted prize via their official X handle on Wednesday, October 22.
The Nigerian international will battle with the likes of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy, and Cameroon's Frank Anguissa for the prestigious award.
Other nominees include Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, DR Congo’s Fiston Mayele, Iliman Ndiaye of Senegal, Denis Bouanga of Gabon, and Oussama Lamlioui of Morocco.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is a huge favourite for the award following his heroics for Luis Enrique’s side last season.
Osimhen won the award in 2023 after guiding Napoli to their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
