Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has been shortlisted for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Women's Yohan Cruyff Trophy, an award recognizing the best coach in women's football.

Madugu earned the nomination following his outstanding campaign at the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where he led Nigeria to a dramatic title win.

The 61-year-old tactician guided the Super Falcons to their WAFCON crown after orchestrating a thrilling comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3–2 in the final.

His strategic brilliance and leadership earned him the Best Coach award at the 2024 Women's AFCON.

Madugu joins an elite list of nominees that includes Chelsea Women’s coach Sonia Bompastor, Brazil Women’s coach Arthur Elias, Arsenal Women’s head coach Renee Slegers, and England Women’s coach Sarina Wiegman.
