Former Nigerian midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju has revealed that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will heave a sigh of relief with the arrival of some key member of the team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

Recall that on Sunday, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Henry Onyekuru, Semi Ajayi, and Oghenekaro Etebo arrived at Super Eagles camp to boost the spirit ahead of the crucial games on March 27 and 30 respectively.

Before now, there has been doubt on the availability of some key members of the team due to the Covid-19 travel ban imposed by some European clubs.

Speaking with Completesports, the ‘Headmaster’ as he was fondly regarded during his playing days, said that Rohr will be delighted with the arrival of the foreign-based players.

He stated that he’s confident the team will excel against the Squirrel of Benin and Crocodile of Lesotho in the AFCON qualifiers.

“It’s big news to know that the foreign-based players such as William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Henry Onyekuru, Semi Ajayi, and Oghenekaro Etebo have arrived in the country for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

“It will definitely be a sign of relief for Gernot Rohr who I believe would have been having a serious nightmare with reports that some clubs in Europe won’t release his players due to covid-19 travel ban imposed by some European countries.

“There is no doubt that more players will arrive Super Eagles camp before Wednesday and I am confident the team will pick the results that will ensure qualification for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
