2021/2022 NPFL season to kick off in December; see opening fixtures

The 2021-2022 Nigeria Professional Football League Season will start in December, according to sources.

An insider disclosed that the League Management Company is liaising with the clubs to ensure the new season kicks off in the middle of next month.

According to him, December 17 has been proposed as the likely kick-off date and the League organizers could make it official in the next few days.

According to the unconfirmed fixtures circulating on social media, reigning champions Akwa United will host Kano Pillars, while Katsina United welcomes Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan to the Patanmi stadium in Gombe, reports.

Lobi Stars will lock horns with Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, while Enyimba FC will host neighbors Abia Warriors in Aba.

The solid miners Nasarawa United will travel to Owerri to face Heartland.
