Amaju Pinnick, the current president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has brought some glory back to the Super Eagles since he took charge in 2015.

Since he was elected, the Nigeria Professional Football League has witnessed a facelift with Nigerians showing more interest in the league.

Pinnick, who is one of the vice-presidents of CAF has been elected into FIFA’s executive council.

This comes after South African billionaire, Patrice Motsepe replaced Ahmad Ahmad as the new President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

1. He was born as the 15th child in 1970 to a polygamous family of 19 children. The name of his late father is Chief Oritsetimeyin Japhet Pinnick, and he is the youngest child of his mother.

2. He graduated from the University of Benin, with a second class upper in political science and public administration in 1994.

3. His elder sister, Roli Uduaghan is the wife of former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

4. He was at one time a personal assistant to the FIFA President Sepp Blatter when he came to Nigeria for a technical study group, a post which he once described as a defining moment in his life as a sports administrator.

5. He does not smoke or drink; he is an introvert who loves swimming and spending time with his family. He is also a lover of wristwatches, shoes and perfumes.

6. He once criticized the former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi openly on a TV programme during the 2014 FIFA World Cup that was held in Brazil, questioning his competence. Stephen Keshi and Amaju Pinnick both hail from Delta state.

8. He sustained a serious injury after a firework he was lighting to celebrate Valentine's Day exploded in his face in his Warri home, Delta state. It left him in a coma for days before he recovered, and left him with scars on his face.

9. Before his election as the NFF president, he doubled as the executive chairman of the Delta Sports Commission and the chairman of Delta State Football Association.

10. Under his leadership as the executive chairman of Delta State Sports commission, he won 288 medals for the state; 114 gold, 99 silver and 75 bronze medals.
