Kano State residents have defied the social distancing order against the spread COVID-19 as they trooped out in hundreds to watch a local football match.

This is coming as Kaduna State recorded 23 cases out of the 38 infections recorded nationwide on Monday night, according to the NCDC's statistics.

The residents alleged trooped out to watch the football match yesterday, April 20, 2020, around 11am.

Kano alone has recorded 59 cases in total of the patients discovered by the health officials.

As of today, April 21, Nigeria has recorded a total of 665 cases of coronavirus with at least 21 deaths and 188 recoveries.

With no cure or vaccine to the virus that has victimised over 2.4 million people across the world, Kano residents risk a massive infection in Nigeria that has lass than 1000 cases with a poor health care facility.

Recall that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), ordered the lockdown of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun for an additional two-weeks, adding that the nation as a whole should observe social distancing to curb the spread of the pandemic.
