Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, says President Donald Trump could bring a style of politics he associates with Nigeria to the United States.

Ayodele made the remarks in a video posted on X, responding to reports of Democratic gains in the US elections. Those gains included wins in Ohio and North Carolina, as well as the party’s takeover of the Senate.

He attributed the Republicans’ losses to Trump’s leadership approach, tariff policies and what he called selfishness. Ayodele further asserted that Americans had turned against Trump, his party and its associates.

The cleric also faulted US Christian pastors, accusing them of failing to speak candidly to political leaders and of allowing them to act without restraint.

Ayodele said he had warned before the elections of mounting pressure on Republicans and the prospect of Democrats making major gains in key states.

“The Reps and the Senate are shaking; Democrats are coming,” he said.

Ayodele concluded by telling his audience that America’s political situation could develop along lines similar to what he described as Nigeria’s political practice.

“This Nigerian practice is coming to America; wait and see, Trump will introduce it,” he said.
