The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has said two suspected cases of Ebola in Adamawa State tested negative on two occasions.

The agency noted that the index case reported in Abuja remains the only case of Ebola in Nigeria.

"NCDC is working with the Adamawa State Government to investigate two suspected Ebola cases reported in Yola, which were isolated and tested. Samples turned out NEGATIVE for Ebola virus after two rounds of testing.

"The index case previously confirmed in the FCT remains the only confirmed case reported in Nigeria to date.

"The public is urged to remain calm and obtain information from official government and public health channels.

"Anyone experiencing symptoms such as fever, severe weakness, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding, particularly following relevant exposure, should seek immediate medical attention and inform healthcare workers of any relevant travel or contact history," NCDC said.
