Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen celebrated the birth of his daughter in style by finding the back of the net for Galatasaray in their emphatic 4-0 victory over Konyaspor on Friday night.
However, an injury concern cast a shadow over his impressive display.
The Nigerian international opened the scoring in the 12th minute, connecting powerfully with Gabriel Sara’s free-kick to send a well-directed header beyond the reach of Konyaspor goalkeeper, Deniz Ertaş.
Osimhen continued to trouble the home defence and nearly doubled his tally before the interval, forcing Ertaş to produce an excellent save with a powerful effort.
The striker remained a threat after the restart, coming close to scoring again with a header from a corner, but the Konyaspor goalkeeper once more denied him with an impressive stop.
However, Osimhen's evening ended in the 61st minute when he was replaced by Deniz Gül as Galatasaray maintained control of the encounter.
Concerns emerged over the 27-year-old's fitness after he reportedly experienced discomfort during the first half and received treatment before continuing the game.
The injury concerns intensified after the final whistle when Osimhen was spotted limping while greeting Galatasaray supporters.
Galatasaray are yet to release an official statement regarding the striker's condition, leaving fans waiting for clarification on the extent of the injury.
The goal against Konyaspor takes Osimhen's tally to 10 in all competitions this season, making the victory a memorable occasion for the forward following the arrival of his daughter.
