Galatasaray talisman Victor James Osimhen proved his worth once again against Fenerbahçe on Monday, October 26, as he continued his impressive record in the Intercontinental Derby.
The 27-year-old scored a brace as the Yellow and Reds secured a crucial 2-1 victory over their bitter rivals at RAMS Park.
The Super Eagles striker opened the scoring approaching the half-hour mark to give Okan Buruk’s side the lead in the derby before adding the second on the stroke of half-time.
Turkish midfielder Can Kahveci reduced the deficit for Fenerbahçe in the 62nd minute, but Galatasaray held on to see out the game.
The victory moved Galatasaray to the top of the Süper Lig table, six points ahead of Fenerbahçe, who dropped to fifth place.
Osimhen’s brace means he has now scored five goals in six appearances against Fenerbahçe in the Intercontinental Derby.
