Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was adjudged Man of the Match following his impressive performance in Galatasaray's victory over Lille in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21.

The 27-year-old was on target for the first time since returning from injury to help the Turkish giants to a remarkable 4-2 victory against his former club at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.

Yunus Akgun scored an early opener for the away side in the second minute before Soriba Diaoune equalized for the home side five minutes later.

Diaoune scored his second on the night to give Lille the lead in the 39th minute before Aleksey Batrakov drew Galatasaray level on the stroke of half time.

Nabil Bentaleb scored an own goal to give Galatasaray a 3-2 lead seven minutes after the restart before Osimhen nailed the coffin in the 61st minute with a powerful strike.

The Nigerian international who joined Napoli from Lille in the summer of 2020 refused to celebrate against his former club.

The former African Footballer of the Year has now registered seven goals and three assists in eight games across all competitions for Galatasaray this season.
