Ejimakor raises questions over suspects behind corps members' abduction

Lawyer Aloy Ejimakor has raised questions concerning the identity of the suspects arraigned by the Department of State Security for the abduction of corps members in Imo State.

According to him, the action by the suspects could be a move to blame the incident on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

He shared on X, "As the DSS finally ends weeks of speculation, and reveals the identity of the NYSC kidnappers in Imo State, let me say these:

"Why would these people come all the way from Sahel to Southeast to commit this heinous crime? It is because they figured they won’t be caught and it will end up being blamed on ESN/IPOB, and innocent Igbo youths (tagged ESN) will pay the price in time to come.

"That said, let me again call on Igbo leaders, specially Southeast Governors, to quit any obsession they may have with ESN/IPOB, and organise a home-grown security outfit, common to the entire Southeast.

"They can borrow a leaf from Amotekun in Southwest, or allow the common folks to organise one similar to Sunday Igboho’s non-governmental security outfit.

"And this: Let it be made clear again that it’s this sort of threat that compelled MAZI NNAMDI KANU to found the ESN, and he made it clear in his inaugural speech.

"Yet, #MNK was sent to prison for daring to create a homeland security for the Southeast. But the threat he sought to confront has remained, and is even escalating.

"Now, who bails the cat in Southeast, my Southeast?"
