The Minister of Works, Engineer Dave Umahi, has said that during a recent inspection of the nNiger Bridge after it was vandalised, he noticed MTN and other adverts on it.
The minister said he ordered the adverts removed and replaced with photos of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
However he later discovered that a previous government had given the advertising rights on the bridge to a private company. That company allowed MTN to advertise on the bridge.
Engineer Umahi said he paid the private company with his own money to erect photos of President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, and all the governors of South-East and South-South states on the bridge.
He said that Obidients, who had been complaining about the photos of Tinubu on the bridge, can also pay the company to place their photos on the bridge.
