Barcelona talisman Lamine Yamal has shared his thoughts on Victor Osimhen's disallowed goal against his side during their crucial UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday, October 13.
Osimhen thought he had given Galatasaray a two-goal cushion against the Spanish champions with a powerful header after Aleksey Batrakov had given the home side the lead in the 28th minute.
However, VAR check revealed that Osimhen's header deflected off Barış Alper Yılmaz who was in an offside position before the ball entered the net.
Hansi Flick's side staged a remarkable comeback to turn the game around with a resounding 4-1 victory, courtesy of goals from Joao Cancelo, Firmin Lopez, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
Yamal, who assisted two goals on the night and went ahead to win the Man of the Match award, acknowledged that the comeback would have been difficult with a two-goal deficit.
“If Galatasaray’s second goal hadn’t been disallowed, our job in Istanbul would have been very tough,” Yamal said per Le Marca Sports.
