Bursaspor head coach Mustafa Er has showered encomiums on Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho for his remarkable form since joining the club.

The 30-year-old joined the Turkish second-tier side as a free agent in the summer, and the rest is history.

The former Celtic forward has been in scintillating goalscoring form, firing on all cylinders for the Green Crocodiles.

The Nigerian international has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in nine league appearances since his surprise move to Turkey.

Er believes the former Leicester City striker has lived up to expectations since joining the club from Celtic.

“We transferred Iheanacho so that he would score goals. We worked very hard for that transfer. We also need to thank our management,” Er was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“There was a lot of demand for him. The size of the club was also very important in his choosing us. We are getting the contribution we want.”

Iheanacho replicated his impressive form on his return to the Super Eagles, scoring the opener in Nigeria’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Russia last week.
