Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly expected to return to action for Galatasaray after the international break, having sustained a muscle strain against Istanbul Başakşehir on September 4.

The 27-year-old has since missed Galatasaray's Champions League defeat to Sporting, a win over Kocaelispor, and a disappointing 4-0 loss to Trabzonspor last weekend.

The Nigerian international was initially expected to recover prior to the international break and was included in Eric Chelle's 24-man squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

However, the former African Footballer of the Year had to withdraw after the squad was released due to lack of fitness and was quickly replaced by Coventry City's Taiwo Awoniyi.

Recent reports from Turkey indicate that Osimhen, Mario Lemina of Gabon and Roland Sallai are all expected to be available for the Turkish champions after the international break, ahead of their upcoming fixtures against Kasımpaşa in the league and Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

"At Galatasaray, Osimhen, Lemina, and Sallai are in condition to play in the Kasımpaşa match," Turkish journalist Nevzat Dindar revealed.

"Singo, on the other hand, appears likely to miss the Kasımpaşa and Barcelona matches," he said.

Galatasaray will take on Kasımpaşa on October 9 before hosting Spanish champions Barcelona at RAMS Park in a mammoth UCL clash on October 13.
