If Lagos goes down today, Nigeria will go down - Hamzat

Governorship candidate and Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, has said that Nigeria will go down if Lagos goes down today.

According to him, this is because Lagos supplies the most GDP in Nigeria and bears the most burden in the country.

Speaking during an interview on TVC, Hamzat said, "If Lagos goes down today, God forbid, this country will go down."

He then spoke about the great institutions that make Lagos work. According to him, most of them were established by President Bola Tinubu when he was governor from 1999 to 2007.

This he said to buttress why experienced hands are needed to mount the affairs of Lagos come 2027.

"When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was governor of Lagos State, there was no LASEMA, there was no LAWMA, there was no BRT, and there was no local government creation. He created them. These are institutions that probably a lot of us have forgotten didn't exist then. At that time, there was not a single public ambulance in Lagos. There was no 112 line, and there was no 767 number. This state pioneered it," he said.
