The Lead/General Counsel of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has reiterated the organisation's rejection of any election boycott.
A rival faction of IPOB announced that the organisation led by incarcerated Nnamdi Kanu will boycott the 2027 general election in Nigeria.
This was rejected by the faction Ejiofor represents,
Speaking during the 11:00 p.m. News Bulletin on AriseTV, Ejiofor reiterated the unequivocal rejection of any election boycott, under whatever guise, form, contrivance, or manipulation.
"We have made our position abundantly clear: never again shall we fold our arms and watch our people repeat the destructive path that brought untold devastation to our land. We must choose vigilance and democratic engagement over self-defeating abstention," he said.
This is despite IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, disavowing Ejiofor on Thursday, after years of representing Kanu in his terrorism and treasonable felony case filed by the Federal Government.
