The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is making promises that don't make sense, all because of his 2027 presidential ambition.

One of Atiku's promises is the return of the fuel subsidy abolished by President Bola Tinubu upon assuming office in 2023.

Atiku has also promised to reopen borders closed by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, many young Nigerians who depended on legitimate cross-border trade have been pushed into financial difficulties because of the restrictions.

He said reopening the borders would help revive cross-border commerce and restore economic opportunities for affected communities.

Reacting, Keyamo shared on X, "Atiku Abubakar is going for broke, like in a gambling game; he is throwing everything in, even if they don’t make sense. It is his last attempt (according to him), so this is expected. It spices up the race and we are loving it. Nice try, but unfortunately for Atiku, Nigerians have since crossed the Rubicon."
