Bello Shagari, a son of former President Shehu Shagari, has dismissed the notion that it is a backward behaviour for citizens to play at the water fountain in the newly.refurnished City Gate in Abuja.
The centre was refurbished by the administration of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Since it was reopened, many citizens have turned the centre to a tourist site where they have fun and take pictures.
However, their actions have been ridiculed by some Nigerians who think such is a backward behaviour.
Reacting, Shagari wrote on X, "If you don’t travel the world, you’ll think this behavior is backward, but that’s the fun of it. I’ve seen children play at squares with water fountains like this in many different countries. That’s the point."
