Boxing legend Mike Tyson has disclosed that the long-awaited heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury belongs in the United Kingdom rather than the United States.

Tyson publicly dismissed proposals to stage the bout in New York (with Madison Square Garden previously targeted for November 20).

He maintained that the “Battle of Britain” should happen in London or elsewhere in the UK, despite acknowledging that his own criminal record bars him from entering the country.

Tyson emphasized that an all-British clash deserves a traditional domestic atmosphere, backing promoters and fans who want the fight in Britain over US prime-time or overseas financial incentives.

“There ain’t going to be many Americans there because they’ll sell it out,” he observed.

“All the English very few Americans sold it out when I fought Frank Bruno.”

“They’re both English and if they come here, all the English people are going to come anyway. So, you’re home already, let’s do it there!

“The guy dropped him, he got back up and he clocked the guy. That was very exciting,” he said.

“I think they both still have enough in them once they get the desire,” he said.
