A section of Nigerian football fans have taken to social media to criticise Victor Osimhen following his recent clash with Santiago Mouriño during Galatasaray's pre-season friendly against Villarreal.
The fallout, which has since gone viral, has sparked backlash from fans online, with many criticising the Super Eagles striker over his conduct on the pitch.
The clash occurred in the 37th minute of the game after Mouriño blocked Osimhen's path while he was surging forward in anticipation of a cross from the right wing.
Osimhen reacted angrily, tore off his mask and shoved the defender to the ground before teammates quickly rushed to the scene to restrain him.
The referee quickly brandished a yellow card for both players following the incident.
Incensed by Osimhen's alleged lack of sportsmanship on the pitch, some fans took to social media to criticise him.
An X user, @PGisCuler, said: "Make him calm down na."
Another user, @KaaluPhili60041, wrote: "One of the reasons no big club wants him."
@enyola said: "The referee ought to have handed Osimhen a red card for this nonsense behaviour. An opponent shoulder bumps you when you're not with the ball and you throw this kind of tantrum?"
@0umutu added: "So that's why there are no offers for him from anywhere."
@robiz90 said: "Victor needs to chill, this is just a friendly game, man."
@Zakaria_Amodu also said: "Very disgusting behaviour from Osimhen, always wants to fight. Make them leave to get 1yr ban."

Despite scoring Galatasaray's only goal in the game, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Turkish giants, Osimhen's conduct during the incident overshadowed his performance.
Many fans are of the opinion that his behaviour on the pitch could be one of the reasons why no major European club has made a move for him, despite his impressive numbers at Napoli and Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from Galatasaray this summer, with Barcelona and Atlético Madrid among the clubs reportedly interested in him.
