The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila at the Commission's headquarters in Abuja, had given a statement in connection with the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

A statement by the ICPC media team says the visit was in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's earlier directives for the Commission to investigate how the PFIPC, an entity in the Presidency disowned as fraudulent came to operate from within the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, for a reported period of about two years, under Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, alleged to have paraded himself as the Director-General of the said Council.

The statement further confirms that the Chief of Staff's visit was on the invitation of its investigators and consistent with its ongoing efforts to gather all relevant facts in the matter.

It adds that the Chief of Staff was not arrested; he willingly honoured an invitation for Investigations.
