Wolverhampton Wanderers have omitted Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare from their pre-season training squad as speculation over his future continues to intensify.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the Nigerian forward was not included in Wolves’ squad for the start of pre-season preparations, further fueling expectations that he could leave Molineux this summer.
According to Romano, Serie A side Fiorentina remain firmly in the race for the 25-year-old despite seeing their opening bid rejected by Wolves.
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with the Italian outfit hopeful of reaching an agreement in the coming days.
Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor are also monitoring the situation closely, but Arokodare is understood to favour a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues and is not keen on a switch to Turkey.
Arokodare remains under contract with Wolves until 2029, with the club holding the option to extend his deal by a further year.
Wolves are therefore under no immediate pressure to sell and are expected to demand a significant transfer fee before sanctioning his departure.
Fiorentina are believed to view the Nigerian as a key addition to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Serie A season, while discussions between all parties continue.
