Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has called for communities in Plateau State to consider forming local militias following the recent deadly attacks in Ta-Hoss, Riyom LGA, and Sabon Layi, Barkin Ladi LGA.
Reacting to the violence, the cleric expressed frustration over what he described as inadequate protection for affected communities. He argued that residents could no longer rely solely on security agencies and urged stronger community action to safeguard lives and property.
Rev. Dachomo also made allegations regarding the Nigerian military and the country's security situation. These claims have not been independently verified, and the Nigerian military has consistently denied allegations of infiltration by terrorist groups.
His remarks have sparked nationwide debate, with some Nigerians supporting calls for stronger community security measures, while others warn that any local security initiative should operate within the law.
The latest attacks have once again highlighted the urgent need for improved security and lasting peace in Plateau State.
