Spain coach, Luis de la Fuente, has picked the player he would sign from another national team as his dream addition to La Roja.
De la Fuente, who won the Euro 2024 with Spain, spoke with reporters ahead of his side’s World Cup second group game against Saudi Arabia in Atlanta on Sunday.
Asked to name a player he would hypothetically like to sign to his team, De la Fuente named Argentina striker Julian Alvarez ahead of Brazil’s Vinicius and France’s Kylian Mbappe.
He insisted that the Atletico Madrid star fits his style of play.
“Which player would I sign from another national team? Julián Álvarez. He’s a fantastic player,” De la Fuente said (via @AlbicelesteTalk on X).
“For my idea, he’d fit perfectly; he’d be very important. Mbappe and Vinicius are great players, but in my footballing idea, he would fit perfectly.”
