The Lagos State Police Command has busted a prostitution hotel in Lagos where underage girls are used for prostitution.
A raid was carried out on the hotel after a 16-year-old girl reported herself at a police station, alleging that she was being forced into prostitution and subjected to maltreatment in the hotel on Lagos Island.
Following her report, the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, led a team to the hotel where the girl and about 30 other underage girls were reportedly being exploited for prostitution.
The hotel owner was not found during the operation. However, about 12 of the girls were rescued and taken into protective police custody.
The woman who allegedly brought the 16-year-old girl to Lagos was later arrested. Investigations revealed that the girl had been brought to the city without being informed that she would be forced into prostitution.
