Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has reiterated his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s policies. He clarified that he did not criticise or question the President, contrary to some reports.
Tuggar also dismissed claims that his recent Hausa-language interview was misinterpreted, describing such accounts as distortions. In a statement released Sunday in Bauchi through his media aide, Abdulkadir Alkassim, the ex-minister emphasised that the circulating reports were false and misleading.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Ambassador Tuggar did not criticise or question President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in any way. Any suggestion to the contrary is false and a deliberate distortion of his remarks,” the statement read.
He emphasised that Tuggar has consistently been a dedicated supporter of the President and wholeheartedly devoted to the Renewed Hope Agenda and the success of the APC-led government.
Alkassim noted that the interview primarily addressed internal party issues in Bauchi State, especially the importance of transparency, fairness, and internal democracy in the candidate selection process.
He explained that Tuggar insisted party members should have the freedom to select candidates through credible and competitive primaries.
