Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, has won the Premier League Player of the Season award.

The 31-year-old has won the award for the first time in his career and becomes the first United player since Nemanja Matic in 2010/11 to receive the honour.

He is the seventh player to win the award at United, joining a list including Peter Schmeichel, Dwight Yorke, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

Fernandes had already secured the FWA Footballer of the Year award and now adds another accolade to a historic season after helping United secure Champions League football.
