Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said referees have to deal with players grappling with each other from set-pieces.

Guardiola was being asked about the controversial VAR decision that saw Arsenal beat West Ham 1-0 on Sunday.

Leandro Trossard’s late goal proved to be the winner, but there was late drama after Calum Wilson’s goal was ruled out.

Although Wilson’s goal was awarded on the pitch, the referee was advised to review it on the on-field screen.

The goal was eventually ruled out and Arsenal went five points clear of Manchester City with two games left.

Asked about the incident, Guardiola said: “It’s a question for the referees…”

Guardiola also insisted they were fully focused on their next fixture against Crystal Palace.

He said: “Crystal Palace, Crystal Palace, and thinking about what we have to do.

“What you cannot control, forget about it.

“Do better, what we have not done better this season, to arrive in a better position to fight for the Premier League… And Crystal Palace…”
