The self-styled Igbo king in South Africa, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Eziko, has finally recanted his baseless insults directed at Yoruba people.
This was after initially attempting to scapegoat the Yoruba people for the tumult caused by his controversial coronation.
Eziko had tendered an apology a few weeks ago to South Africans, clarifying that he was not planning to coronate himself as a king in their land. According to him, he was only the chief and head of the Igbo people in South Africa.
A new video from Eziko shows him apologising to Yoruba people whom he had accused of influencing South Africans against Igbos.
According to him, he doesn't hate Yoruba people, adding that since his arrival in South Africa, a Yoruba man has been his best friend.
He added, “Let whatever happened stop, Yorubas, my brothers, as the main leader of Igbos, I’m tendering an apology to you for what I said that hit you or hurt you. Please, those who are angry with me withdraw. I’m best friends with Yoruba people, I eat ewedu, I eat Gbegiri, I eat Efo, I eat Amala, I live in Yoruba, I grew up with Yoruba people.”
