Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the FCT, has said terrorist sympathisers are not happy that many human instruments of terrorism were eliminated on Sunday.

This was after a Nigeria Air Force strike bombed a market in Jilli, Borno State, with multiple reports claiming that civilians were targeted.

One of those against the airstrike is Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, who wrote: "Who are the pilots behind these bomb releases on innocent locals? Tudun biri, Nasarawa attack on herdsmen trailer, Sokoto attack, etc., are just the few ones recorded. Terror cannot be fought with another terror. There should be an immediate Senate hearings on these so-called 'mistakes' on bombing villages, markets and civilians targets. We need answers not condolences."

However, Lere Olayinka recalled that the market was closed down years ago by the Borno State government because it served as a logistics based for Boko Haram terrorists.

The army has also issued a statement pointing out that the market was operated by terrorists and their collaborators.

Olayinka wrote on X, "Obviously, sympathisers of terrorism are not happy that many human instruments of terrorism were el!minated today.

"They rushed to the media to claim that Jilli market was bombed by the Military and many villagers died.

"Deliberately, they didn't tell Nigerians that the JILLI MARKET is a notorious hub being used by terrorists and their logistics suppliers.

"According to the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, the State Government CLOSED JILLI and GAZABURE MARKETS five years ago!"
