Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, a former Kano State governorship candidate, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was disclosed in a post on X by Bashir Ahmad on Monday, March 30.

Ahmad said the Gawuna’s exit and claimed it wasn’t a good development.

He wrote: “Unfortunately, we have lost the former Kano State gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as he has formally resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC). This isn’t good!”

This comes hours after Gawuna resigned as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, FMBN.

In a resignation letter dated March 27, 2026, he explained that his decision takes immediate effect and follows the President’s directive for compliance with electoral laws ahead of upcoming political activities.
