According to the statement earlier released by the Federal Ministry of Works, the maintenance work is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and is expected to last for two weeks, ending on March 24, 2026.
In line with the partial closure of the bridge inward Opic/Mowe, Motorists are advised to make use of the following alternative routes during the repair period:
Route Option 1:
Motorists from Third Mainland Bridge are urged to connect Ketu to Mile 12 to link Ogolonto to Ikorodu Garage and link Sabo Roundabout to connect Isagamu Road / Itokin Road to continue their journeys.
Route Option 2:
Motorists from Lagos Island are to link Ilubinrin to connect Ijora Bridge to access Eko Bridge to Funsho Williams Avenue and link Ikorodu Road to Ojota to Ketu and connect Mile 12 to Ogolonto to Ikorodu Garage and link Sabo Roundabout to Isagamu Road / Itokin Road to link their desired destinations.
Alternatively, motorists can also link Ikorodu Garage through Sabo Roundabout to link Ogijo to Likosi and connect Shimawa to Lotto to link Mowe and connect their destinations.
Advisory:
To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise disruptions, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) as well as traffic management signs, will be strategically deployed within the rehabilitation corridor and along the designated alternative routes.
The Lagos State Government, while urging motorists to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays, also appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation displayed at all rehabilitation corridors across the State.
