The General Officer Commanding, GOC, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma, Maj. Gen. PB Koughna, has conducted a familiarisation tour of troops deployed in parts of Kebbi State.

The tour, which took place on March 15, saw the GOC inspect personnel of CSI Battalion III at the Forward Operating Base, Dirin Daji, in the Sakaba area of Zuru Local Government Area, as well as those of the 223 Light Tank Battalion.

Maj. Gen. Koughna was received by the Commanding Officers of the respective units, who briefed him on their activities and the security situation within their areas of responsibility.

Addressing the personnel, the GOC urged them to remain vigilant, committed, and professional in the discharge of their duties.

He also held a strategic meeting with unit commanders, during which issues relating to ongoing operations and prevailing security challenges were discussed.

The tour ended without incident, as troops were urged to maintain a high level of alertness, discipline, and professionalism, while remaining prepared to respond swiftly to emerging threats.
