Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has named Premier League champions Liverpool as the club he wants Galatasaray to avoid in the UEFA Champions League.
The 27-year-old made the disclosure on CBS Sports after helping Galatasaray seal qualification for the Round of 16.
Osimhen came to the rescue in extra time after Juventus had taken a three-goal lead in regulation time, helping to level the tie.
Baris Yilmaz later added the icing on the cake as Galatasaray secured a 7-5 aggregate win over the Bianconeri.
Galatasaray will now face either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur in the next stage of the competition.
Osimhen believes meeting Liverpool would be a difficult hurdle for the Yellow and Reds, despite having beaten the Reds earlier in the league phase.
“I mean, to be honest with you, meeting Liverpool now is going to be like some sort of revenge,” Osimhen told CBS Sports.
“Anyone we meet now… I wouldn’t say much, but I would like to avoid Liverpool.
“But if they come, yeah, we are going to dig it out, but it’s not going to be easy.”
