Club Brugge head coach Ivan Leko has expressed disappointment following the suspension of Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika for their second-leg clash against Atletico Madrid.
The 24-year-old was in action as Club Brugge played out a thrilling 3–3 draw with Diego Simeone’s side in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 play-offs.
Onyedika was instrumental for the Belgium Pro League side, scoring their first goal and providing an assist.
However, the Nigerian received a booking in the 76th minute of the encounter, which rules him out of the second leg.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Leko admitted that the club does not have another player with Onyedika’s profile.
“We don’t have another Rapha, so we’ll have to find another solution,” Leko was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.
