A snake charmer has revealed that rumblings heard in ceilings and POP of homes are actually a result of fights between snakes and rats.

This was made known on X by former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, following the death of upcoming singer Nanya, caused by a snake bite.

Sani said, "The tragic death of Ifunanya from snake bite should be a great lesson for us all. A snake charmer from Zaria recently revealed that nothing attracts snakes to our homes like littered Eggs shells and Rats. He further explained that some of the battles going on inside our ceilings or POP are between the Snakes and the Rats. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Snake that killed Abuja singer Nanyah was not sent through juju - Monarch

The Olukosi of Ilukosi-Ijesa, HRM Oba Omotooyosi Bayo M.Akinleye, has said the snake that killed Ifunanya Nwangene, a 25-year-old Abuja-based classical, jazz, RnB, and soul singer, popularly known by her stage name Nanyah, was not fashioned against her through juju.

Nanyah passed away after suffering a snake bite at her residence in the early hours of Sunday.

According to information gathered, Nanyah reportedly made frantic efforts to save her life after the incident, rushing herself to two different hospitals for urgent medical attention.

However, she was said to have been turned away or left untreated due to the unavailability of anti-venom at the facilities she visited.

Report indicate that she did everything she could to survive. She went to more than one hospital, but there was no anti-venom.

Meanwhile, according to reports, this was not the first time a snake had been sighted in or around the late singer’s residence.

Following news of her death, reactions have continued to trail the incident on social media, with some Nigerians expressing shock and grief, while others speculated about supernatural causes.

Some commenters alleged that the snake attack might be linked to juju or spiritual manipulation, though no evidence has been provided to support such claims.

However, Oba Akinleye dismissed claims that the snake was charmed and sent to attack her in her house.

According to him, snakes sent on such errands are never found lurking around afterwards, as was the case with the snake involved in the incident, which was later captured.

He shared on X, "No, this is not aransi ejo (Snake that was sent to kill) because you will never go back home and meet the snake in the house, aransi ejo would have left.

"Please if you see snake, don’t check what type of snake before you kill them or runaway. Just run."
