LaLiga: ‘It’s not my business’ – Barça boss, Flick suggests why Real Madrid sacked Alonso

Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, has suggested that Xabi Alonso was sacked as Real Madrid manager because the players and the club’s hierarchy did not trust him.

He said the Spanish coach is still one of the best and hopes for the best for him in his next job.

Speaking to the media before the Copa del Rey game against Real Racing Club, Flick said he did not want to get into the reasons Alonso was sacked.

He added that a manager cannot stay at a club if the people in charge start losing confidence.

As quoted by Goal, he said, “It’s not my business. I get along really well with Xabi. We met in Leverkusen and have kept in touch since.

“He’s a fantastic coach. I hope he has a lot of success with his next big project. All the best for him. It’s part of football.

“The club needs to believe in you, and the team should believe in you too. The people who are in charge need to make the choices.

“But it’s not my business, I don’t want to talk about it, because a coach’s job is very complicated, and we have a lot of responsibilities.”

Xabi Alonso beat Barcelona earlier this season in the league, but lost 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final earlier this week.
